Is your carafe scaled up?
It's true that a glass bottle gets dirty quickly.
Not very presentable especially if you have guests.
But because of the narrow neck, it is often impossible to clean them properly...
Fortunately, there is an easy trick to clean a carafe full of limescale.
The trick is to use white vinegar, rice and coarse salt . Watch:
Contents
1. Pour white vinegar into the carafe until halfway.
2. Add a handful of rice.
3. Add a tablespoon of coarse salt.
4. Stopper the carafe with your finger.
5. Shake vigorously to loosen impurities.
6. Empty the carafe.
7. Rinse with clean water.
And There you go ! No more water carafe full of limestone :-)
Your carafe is now completely clean and has regained all its transparency naturally.
It still makes you want to drink from it, doesn't it?
Thanks to the descaling action of vinegar and the abrasive action of rice and salt, limescale and dirt have disappeared.
And it works for glass or crystal decanters and wine decanters. No more traces of red wine in the beautiful decanter!
Know that you can use the same trick to clean a narrow crystal vase or a glass globe with a narrow opening.
If the carafe is really clogged, use the same ingredients but this time fill the bottle entirely with white vinegar and leave to act for 2 hours. Then empty some of the mixture, stopper the carafe and shake it vigorously.
Finally, put the carafe in the dishwasher to finish the deep cleaning. Be careful not to leave labels on the bottle, which would clog the dishwasher.
You can also use a bottle brush to loosen the limestone. This trick also works for cleaning baby bottles.
