No need for electricity to run it. The only source of energy it needs is you! Finally, more precisely, your muscles.
As with any classic electric washing machine, there is a drum.
But in this specific case, it was installed at the front wheel of the bike.
The idea is simple and ecological:to wash your clothes, just pedal!
The bike's crankset mechanically drives the drum of the machine, thanks to your efforts.
So if you want to do laundry, you have to plan a little workout! Of course, chances are that your laundry will benefit from a gentle wash.
Before being able to reach the 1600 rpm of a classic electric washing machine, you will have to undergo very, very high-level training...
But this concept has the merit of offering an alternative to all-electric, to move towards greater energy independence.
In addition, this exercise bike washing machine also has a USB charging system.
The electricity generated by pedaling can be stored in batteries.
It will then come to power small household appliances. And hop again electricity savings thanks to a few pedal strokes!
Your efforts are largely rewarded because you save significant electricity.
In fact, a category A washing machine consumes about 130 kW per year.
By replacing it with this bicycle washing machine, your electricity bill will be reduced by €60 per year.
Not bad, is it? And in addition, you will be in great shape and you will have preserved the planet by limiting CO2 emissions in the atmosphere.
Not to mention the fact that you can cancel your gym membership. More great savings!
The idea is still in the prototype stage. There are still a lot of details to be clarified:the capacity of the drum, the water supply and evacuation, the price...
But it's an interesting approach, don't you think? In the meantime, there's nothing stopping you from tinkering with a similar crafting system!
