Did you know that your computer keyboard is one of the most dirty in your house?
It would be 5 times dirtier than a smartphone and harbor 60 times more germs than your toilet seat (See the study).
Nice when you know that you put your hands on it every day (on the keyboard!). Chip crumbs, hair, bacteria... it's a real nest of germs!
That said, it's not easy to clean it!
Luckily, there's a simple method to thoroughly clean and disinfect your keyboard. Watch:
- Vinegar
- A brush
- A Cotton Swab
- A microfiber cloth
1. Shut down your computer.
2. Unplug your keyboard from the computer.
3. Turn it upside down and shake it gently to loosen the dirt.
4. Place it right side up on your table.
5. Pass the brush under clear water.
6. Wring it out by pinching it between two fingers.
7. Run the moistened brush over all the keys to remove crumbs and dust.
8. Now dip a Q-Tip in white vinegar.
9. Wring it out by pinching it between two fingers.
10. Pass this cotton swab between the keys of the keyboard to disinfect the keyboard. Change the Cotton Swab aside when it gets dirty.
11. Take a soft, lint-free cloth.
12. Dampen it lightly with white vinegar.
13. Gently rub your keyboard with this cloth.
14. Let it dry for at least ten minutes.
15. Plug your keyboard back in when it's dry.
There you go, your computer keyboard is now perfectly cleaned and disinfected :-)
It's all clean and ready to use! No more germs swarming on the keyboard. Don't forget to repeat the operation at least once a month.
