Lion Brand Micro Spun (2.5oz / 168yd) in Turquoise, Mango and Fuchsia, 1 ball each
crochet hook, 5mm
scissors
tapestry needle
Materials (pin):
pin back
small amount of sewing thread
sewing needle
Materials (flower stem):
12" long wooden dowel (we used a cure-all flowering plant stake)
glue gun
Note: The meter doesn't really matter when you're making flowers. If you want to achieve a size similar to what we produce, use a worsted weight yarn and a hook size between 5mm and 6mm.

Tassel:
Work a dc until there are 2 loops left on the hook. Do not complete the stitch. I and insert hook in the same stitch; work half a dc (3 loops remain on hook). Continuing to work in the same stitch, work half a third dc (4 loops remain on hook). Me and yarn through all 4 loops.
Model:
Ch 5. Sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 1. Work 10 sc in the ring. Sl st in first sc to join round.
Round 2: Ch 2. Work hdc, ch 1, hdc, ch 1, hdc in the flo of each sc around, until 1 sc remains. Work hdc, ch 1, hdc, ch 1 into last sc. Slide the leg to the top of the chain to join the round. Fasten (figure A).
Round 3: Flip the flower over so that the wrong side is facing the front. Joining the new yarn color, sl st into the first sc of Round 1. Work dc, tr, dc into the block of each sc of Round 1 (fig B). Sl st in first dc to join round.
Round 4: Sl st in first stitch. *Ch 3, work 1 bobble into next stitch, ch 3, slip to next 2 stitches. * Repeat from * to * until 1 stitch remains. Sl st in last stitch. Fasten Knit in points.
To make a stem flower:
Use a glue gun to attach the flower to the top of a dowel. Make several and order in a vase..
To make a pin:
Sew a pin back to the flower. If you want to attach the pin to a stem, glue a piece of felt to the top of the pin and pin the flower to the fabric.
