See how we turned an outdated office into a fashion item.
This dresser looked sad and boring, but since it's made of solid wood, it was the perfect candidate for a makeover.
Sand the dresser to remove the existing finish. Wipe it with a damp cloth to ensure the entire surface is clean and smooth.
Place the sideboard on a tarp. If necessary, prop it up on wooden blocks to lift it off the ground to make it easier to paint the bottom. Apply an even coat of paint and let dry. Give it a second coat and let it dry.
Cut the flowers or patterns from the fabric. Make sure you get all the details in the pattern.
Use a brush to spread decoupage glue on the back of the fabric, and then place the fabric on the dresser. Apply a layer of decoupage glue on the front of the fabric. Make sure to completely cover the edges of the fabric. Let the glue dry..
Keep moving down the dresser until you have a fun pattern with a variety of colors.
When the fabric is dry and the glue is invisible, spray the dresser with two coats of lacquer or polyurethane.
