There's something especially exciting about making and popping giant bubbles. With a few simple and inexpensive materials, you can make a giant bubble wand and extra strong bubble solution. If you're having trouble finding the guar gum powder required for these specialty bubbles, this wand also works well with our other two homemade bubble recipes.
Paint the tacos a fun color and let them dry.
No tools required, just turn the small screw at the end of each peg.
You will need one piece about 45" long and a second piece about 70" long.
Tie the shorter piece of yarn to the pegs. Use a strong knot to tie each end of the thread to one of the screw eyes.
Thread one or two washers onto the longer thread, then tie each end to the screw eyes. This will create a triangle of yarn when the pegs are held open with the shorter length of yarn on top and the longer length weighed in the middle by the washer.
Gather supplies for the giant bubble mix. You'll need distilled water (tap water will work if it's not too hard), guar gum (found online or at some health food stores), baking powder, rubbing alcohol, and dish soap.
Add 1 heaping teaspoon of guar gum and 1 heaping teaspoon of baking powder to a small bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of alcohol and stir until well combined.
Add the suspension to the water. Put 1 gallon of water in a small bucket and shake vigorously to create a vortex. Pour the mixture into the center of the hot tub.
Turn the whirlpool back on and pour a cup of soap into the center. Try not to create too many bubbles as you add the soap. Let the mixture sit for at least 10 minutes.
Submerge your wand strings completely into the bubble bucket. Slowly pull out, then lift the wands up and open them to create giant bubbles. If there's a slight breeze, you can just stand still, otherwise you may have to walk backwards slowly to get the bubbles blown away.
