Think again, even if your entrance hall is simply a place of passage, you should not neglect its decoration. Indeed, this space is the very first impression that your guests will have of your interior.
It is often not necessary to make major renovations which are expensive to give a little facelift to its interior. Sometimes, small works of refreshing the wall covering and the floor bring unexpected and surprising results. To do this, find interesting ideas on this very good blog about the house.
As for my interior, a redevelopment of the entrance hall has completely transformed it. I had the trigger while waiting for a friend in his vestibule while he was looking for his car keys. During this wait of a few minutes, I then realized that the space was not only very tidy, but above all decorated with taste and sobriety.
At home, the places are more like a warehouse and a cloakroom. You can find everything there:coats and jackets, schoolbags, laptop bags, shoes, umbrellas, not to mention skateboards and scooters. In short, a real mess. That's why I challenged myself to completely reorganize the space. I am also very happy, because the whole household helped me. I am more than satisfied with the efforts made.
So, as soon as I had some free time, I started by clearing the hallway of this mess. And so that the hall no longer serves as a storage room, I did not hesitate to install additional storage systems that I found at Fly. First, I moved the coat racks and hooks to the front door and thus freed up a section of wall that will receive a multifunction shelf. The piece of furniture will serve both as a shoe rack, on which I will put an empty-pocket basket to put the keys, the letters, the leash for the dog and others.
I even made room for a small bench, to give the children time to comfortably take off their sneakers. As for walking sticks and umbrellas, I relegated them to the corner in a very designer umbrella stand.
Otherwise, I added two small wall consoles to receive accessories and decorative objects such as trinkets, vases, photo frames. Otherwise, to enlarge and give an effect of depth to the vestibule, a decorator friend advised me to install a large mirror there. But unfortunately, there was no longer enough space. Also, I didn't want to part with my beautiful watercolor collection.
Moreover, the mistake that should not be made is to overload the room too much. Otherwise, since my hallway was a bit dark and gloomy, I had no choice but to redo the paint. And this time, I let myself be tempted by a bright and clear off-white color. I still added little pastel touches to brighten up the space. At the same time, I also completely overhauled the lighting. In addition to the two wall lights, I had LED spotlights and ceiling lights installed. Finally, I spread a large mat on the floor.
