The Scenolia team is moving! And who says new office , says new decoration !
We have taken over a very comfortable and pleasant free office, well insulated and above all with real windows that open! Yes, it's better than our old large panoramic window on the countryside of the mountains of Lyon, but unfortunately, which did not open! We now have 4 windows, it's a real change. Our office is therefore very bright, which is great (except for naps).
We worked together to choose our decoration and our layout. It's not so easy to choose between all the visuals we offer... We like them a lot so choosing only 3 is a drastic choice! Want to see what we picked? Here are the pictures:
Do you like it? What do you think ?
What is certain is that the idea was to install the products ourselves, once again to put ourselves in the shoes of our customers. That said, it was a good experience for us to realize some essential pose details!
We cut the curtains before mounting them on the kits, because they measure 2.50 m. The height (without plinths) of our room is 2.35 m, plus a margin of canvas to slip into the kit (allow 4 cm).
Initially we find the kit quite stiff and tucking the round bar inside doesn't seem so easy. To press the round bar, we took a small mandrel, which we rolled across the entire width. Once the hand is taken, the canvas is easily placed in the plastic kit.
We did well for the installation of the wallpaper, but it is true that there were not too many of us. We started by unrolling the non-woven to cut it to the correct dimensions of the wall (5.57 x 2.32 m). This first step takes a bit of time but is easy to do! We cut the mandrel (the tube) with a cutter and then rolled the wallpaper back onto its mandrel.
We test the wallpapering accessories that we sell on our site:the OVALIT glue (5kg), the flat brush, the special glue roller, the cutter, the smoothing brush and the glue pot. The thick glue contains little water, so the non-woven paper did not absorb the glue and no risk of warping.
Once 1/3 of the wall has been glued, Stéphane places the wallpaper parallel to the wall. Célia takes care of smoothing as Emilie unrolls the wallpaper. At the start, we didn't put enough glue and the bubbles didn't go well. So we peeled off the wallpaper a few centimeters to re-paste and added a bit more glue. We glued 1 meter by 1 meter for ease (especially on an area of almost 6 meters!). The wallpaper comes to the end of the wall and hangs… it falls to the hair, 1 mm from the end. :)
We have chosen very different decorative universes with a trompe l'oeil, a landscape and an animal. The three evoke nature and travel. It's very beautiful and we are proud to have decorated our office ourselves.
What decor would you add? What would you change?
