How to keep cut flowers at home at least a week:
– Avoid putting the bouquet on an unstable place. Obviously if the vase falls…
– Put the water in a very clean vase, clean the vase every two days with bleach . Be careful when handling bleach.
– Cut the base of the flowers with a knife, no scissors . This is to avoid crushing the stem.
– Branchage:cut and split them on 3 to 5 cm. Attention, split the wood, not the fingers!
– Put some charcoal in the bottom of the vase. It is a disinfectant.
– Roses:put them in lots of water .
– Flowering plants:no more than 18°C (azalea, cyclamen…). Heat accelerates the end of flowering
– Do not put behind the bay window in the sun , nor cut flowers, nor flowering plants. Too bad for the curious on the street watching at your place...
– Tulips, hyacinths and anemones continue to grow in the vase. They need a high vase . Cut the stem from time to time, or buy a vase with collars...
– Admire the flowers and tell them, they like it.
