Want to extend the summer holiday feeling at home? That's no problem with the exotic beauties:Strelitzia, Gloriosa and Anthurium. Thanks to unusual flower shapes in bright colors, the unique trio manages to create a tropical atmosphere in the interior that makes you dream of strange places day after day.
Native to Africa and South America, Strelitzia, Gloriosa and Anthurium radiate an infectious summer mood at any time of the year in our latitudes. The unusual flower shapes of the exotic plants resemble graphic works of art and, individually or in unusual bouquets, set contrasting color accents in your own home – including an airy, light summer feeling.
While the flowers of the spectacular Gloriosa in expressive orange or flaming pink-red to saffron yellow are reminiscent of small fireballs, the glamorous anthurium captivates with differently colored bracts and curious ears that boldly crown the green stem. The third tropical beauty in the group, by the way, has a second name:Also affectionately known as the “bird of paradise flower”, the colorful strelitzia is characterized by a decorative flower comb made up of three outer bracts in bright orange and two to three royal leaves in bright blue. The bird-of-paradise among flowers lives up to its name, especially in warm regions, because not only flower lovers, but also birds cannot avert their gaze from its colorful beauty and like to use the sepal as a comfortable landing spot.
As extravagant as the flower shapes and colors of the exotic, the matching vases and bowls can also be chosen. The tropical cut flowers can be placed in self-painted window boxes, cylindrical or spherical vases as desired. In combination, they enrich the interior with a summery color component, both in a minimalist design and in a setting rich in contrast.
To enjoy the holiday flair for as long as possible, Strelitzia, Gloriosa and Anthurium should be cut diagonally at the beginning and placed in a clean vase with plenty of fresh water. It is not necessary to add cut flower food. In addition, it is advisable to avoid drafts, hot air and direct sunlight for lasting flower happiness. By the way: in addition to the high glamor factor, the tireless anthurium has another asset in store:it is the flower with the longest shelf life and therefore perfect for an endless tropical feeling.
