There is nothing more wonderful than lighting up the barbecue or relaxing with a good book in a beautiful summer garden. But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy your outdoor space in the fall and winter! With the right furniture, creative gardening and seasonal items, there's never a bad day to get out in the fresh air and enjoy what your yard has to offer. Besides the fresh air being healthy, the garden can still be beautiful – with the leaves changing to shades of red and gold. The days may be getting shorter, but the weather is still nice. If you're lucky enough to have a south-facing garden, you can still enjoy the sun and even eat outside long after summer has ended. Here are some tips on how you can enjoy your garden in the fall and winter.
Add winter color Add winter color to brighten up your garden by filling planters and hanging baskets with fall/winter favorites such as violets, ivy and winter heather. Small conifers, boxwoods and small hardy shrubs give some height. And now, of course, is the time to plant bulbs such as tulips, hyacinths and crocuses for next year's spring.
Food and drink outside
A thick coat, a scarf and gloves on? That is no longer necessary, because with special garden furniture, outdoor heaters and a beautiful parasol that keep you covered, it is nice to stay in the garden in the autumn.
Be creative light
Just because the nights get darker doesn't mean your garden should be dark too. You can be creative with your outdoor lighting. Think of a fire table, hollowed out logs with lights in them, special outdoor lighting and more. Create a magical outdoor space with light.
Create a home in the garden
If you really want to create a unique outdoor experience in the colder months, consider a covered outdoor space such as a log cabin. These are windproof, waterproof and resistant to all kinds of weather conditions, and it is always warm. Also ideal as a place for children to play or simply to relax.
