Mosses, lichens and ferns invade our living rooms, bedrooms and kitchens! Something to delight those who have the blues of summer and the countryside... Arranged in small jars, vases or even teapots, these "plant aquariums" have it all. Because these terrariums - that's what they're called - bring green into the house and bring a fresh, oxygenating, soothing and rejuvenating breath to our decor. And it feels good!
The best? It's easy to do. You start by choosing a transparent and waterproof container, with an opening adapted to the plant you want to put in it (for example, you choose a wide opening if you want to reproduce a desert environment with cacti and succulents, advises the Gerbeaud site) , then we put gravel or clay balls (to make a water reservoir), a garden felt and a soil adapted to your plant. And then of course, your plant (Aloes, Sansevieria, Echeveria, Ceropegia woodii, Haworthia, Gasteria on the "desert" side, and "moss, ferns, epiphytic plants (orchids), selaginella or even carnivorous plants", on the wet terrarium side, continues the Gerbeaud site.
