Yessss! Finally a new floor and I love it!

I feel like I had to wait 'eternally' for this, for our new PVC floor in concrete look. But finally the time has come. Last week we received the floor and in that weekend we started laying this PVC floor ourselves. Have you seen that nice truck from Ambiant floors on my Insta? Of course - once the floor was in the house - I could hardly contain myself to get started right away. However, on the advice of Ambiant floors, we allowed the floor to acclimatize for 48 hours. And although time always goes fast… those 48 hours were way too long for me, haha.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to get started right away. But of course that is not the case in many cases. Not only with this PVC concrete look floor, but also with many other things, my patience is tested. Everything has to "wait" for something else to be ready. For example, after demolishing everything here in the house, we first had to fix the ceilings ourselves before the plasterer could get to work.

And then all the stucco has to dry before you can paint, which takes several weeks. Furthermore, before we could get started with the PVC floor, we also had to level the entire floor in the living room, kitchen and dining room. We also did it ourselves; hilarious fodder for another blog. After levelling, it was again a matter of waiting for this floor to dry and then another 48 hours for acclimatization.

The moment you can start with the floor, another cool steel door will be delivered that I would of course also like to hang. But that's not possible because the floor isn't finished yet, haha. And that's how we keep going. Anyway, it doesn't matter, because I can tell you that I enjoy every m² of our PVC floor that we lay. Not so much from the work, but from the view. Guys I am very happy with this floor! Of course I don't know yet how he will really give birth, but he is so beautiful, not normal!

PVC floor delivered; let it acclimatize for a while

But I want to go back in time for a while. On delivery, two full pallets of this PVC floor were neatly delivered. Fortunately, I had the truck driver put one of the pallets directly behind our sliding doors. So we didn't have to lug these boxes far. And that was a good thing, because they are quite heavy I can tell you. In fact, you can almost feel the quality of the floor by the weight. But with two it is fine to do luckily.

While acclimatizing the floor, I couldn't wait and of course I really wanted to see the floorboards. Since we wanted the floor in a click PVC variant, I was able to remove a number of floor parts to lay down in advance. This way I was able to get a good impression even before we could start laying. And I am totally in love. I would also like to write a blog for you about laying the floor. I think that our experiences in this area can be very valuable. Certainly if you also want to lay such a PVC floor yourself, whether you choose a concrete look or a wood look, it does not matter. In any case, I can tell you that we were greatly misled by some videos on Youtube. So be warned .

Happy with the choice of our PVC-concrete-look floor

In any case, I can already say that I am very happy with our choice for the concrete look floor in PVC version. It is always exciting to choose a new floor. You choose based on a piece of floor in the store, or in our case based on a sample sent home. And if you are already in doubt about the look and feel that you like best, then it is completely difficult of course. In my blog about choosing a new floor, I already let you know how we ultimately came to our choice. And how handy the room planner is to get an idea of the floor in your own room. Based on this, we made our choice for the PVC floor in concrete look. And here's the result so far!

As this part of the living room is further furnished, the floor will look even more beautiful than you see above. The bank is now back in place. We have therefore opted for a click PVC floor instead of a PVC floor with a concrete look that is seamless. A conscious choice for us because we wanted to install it ourselves. We also want to be able to make changes more easily at a later stage during a future renovation.

Seamless concrete-look floor or not

Even though this PVC floor is a click variant, the floor appears almost seamless in its execution. Of course you can see the transitions between the loose PVC tiles, but these transitions fit together so well and smoothly that you don't feel any seams. I now understand that they call such a floor water resistant. Not a drop of liquid gets through here.

Combining PVC concrete-look floor in the house

We are going to combine the concrete look floor with black, white, gray and natural tones. And when I see the photos like this, I am already very happy with it. In addition to the larger furniture that will be in it, I also use black home accessories and eventually I would like to provide some extra warmth in the house with a wooden wall finish. Personally, I think that is the only 'concern' you can have with a concrete look floor. Whether it is made of PVC or other materials, accessories should bring enough warmth and cosiness into your home. And of course I am richly inspired by Pinterest! So in the end I am looking for the style below approximately, where our closet is unfortunately a fixed fact.
