Not sure what to do with your wine corks?
Do not throw them away after uncorking a bottle of wine.
An original and free trick is to make a trivet out of corks.
Just take corks and a tube of strong glue.
1. First assemble three corks, placed vertically.
2. Glue them using a strong glue.
3. Repeat the process until you have a circle large enough to fit a saucepan in.
4. As soon as the glue is dry, the trivet is operational.
5. For a pretty decoration, you can take a ribbon and tie it around the trivet by making a knot.
There you go, you have an original trivet :-)
Not only is it beautiful, but it's free and unique!
If you want to use the corks as they are, you will need at least forty of them. If you only have about 20, cut them in half.
A good way to collect corks is to ask for them at a restaurant near you or from your friends when you dine at their place.
