So what do all those weird symbols and logos on your clothes wash labels mean?

The symbols on the washing labels are divided into 5 categories:washing, bleaching, drying, ironing and professional cleaning.
- Cotton program wash (no line)
- Synthetic program wash (one stroke)
- Delicate program wash (two strokes)
- Hand wash: do not machine wash. The garment can only be dry cleaned and must not be washed.
- No washing: the garment can only be dry cleaned and must not be washed.
- All types of money laundering authorized: the garment can be treated with bleach or sodium percarbonate.
- Bleaching with oxygenated agents only: the garment can be treated only with bleaching agents such as sodium percarbonate.
- No bleaching: do not use bleach to treat the garment. It should be washed only with products designed for colored laundry or delicate laundry.
- Tumble dry at normal temperature (two points): drying program at 80°C.
- Tumble dry low (one point): choose a drying program with moderate temperature (60°C) and reduced drying time.
- Line drying
- Line drying by dripping without machine spinning
- Dry flat
- Do not tumble dry: do not tumble dry.
- No hand spin
- Dry in the shade
- Hot ironing (3 points): iron at a maximum temperature of 200°C (cotton, linen programme)
- Iron at moderate temperature (2 points): iron at a maximum temperature of 150°C (wool, silk, polyester, viscose programme).
- Iron at low temperature (1 point): iron at a maximum temperature of 110°C (acrylic, nylon and acetate programme). Attention, do not use steam.
- No ironing: risk of irreversible changes in case of ironing.
- Dry cleaning with all types of solvent stain removers
- Dry cleaning with perchlorethylene
- Dry cleaning with mineral spirits
- No dry cleaning: stain removers with solvents should not be used
