Laying a beautiful French table is a real headache.
You have to respect the order of the glasses, the cutlery, know where to put the napkins...

My grandmother passed on to me an easy guide to setting up a pretty reception table correctly.
Very practical for organizing a party, a wedding or a Christmas meal!
Whether it's a rather informal dinner or on the contrary a formal chic dinner, you will know how to set the table without fault of taste . Watch:
The plate is placed in the center , 2.5 cm from the edge of the table. Then from left to right:
1. Lay out the salad fork, then the dinner fork.
2. On the plate, place the folded napkin.
3. Above the plate, place the water glass and then the wine glass.
4. To the right of the plate, put the knife, the dessert spoon and finally the soup spoon.
The plate is always placed in the center , 2.5 cm from the edge of the table.
Then we start from the left to go to the right in order to correctly put the cutlery and the glasses:
1. On the far left, lay out the napkin.
2. Next to the napkin, put the salad fork and then the table fork.
3. Above the two forks, place the bread plate on which the bread knife will be.
4. On the main plate, place the salad plate.
5. Above the plates put the cake fork. It is parallel to the edge of the table.
6. Above the cake fork put the dessert spoon and the placement cardboard.
7. To the right of the placement box, place the water glass, then the red wine glass and finally the white wine glass.
8. To the right of the plate, put the knife, then the teaspoon and the tablespoon.
9. Below the glasses and to the right of the spoons, place the cup and its saucer.
Generally, they are only brought to the table at dessert time.
