Looking for a trick to clean your shower tile grout?
Due to humidity, tile joints tend to mold.
Not easy to clean them!
Here is a super effective homemade cleaner if the joints have turned yellow or blackened.
It only requires 2 ingredients:baking soda and bleach.
This homemade cleanser has the advantage of being easy to make and having an incredible result. Watch:
1. In a bowl, mix 100 g of baking soda with 1 glass of bleach, until it forms a thick paste.
2. Apply the paste directly to the black joints.
3. Leave on for 5 to 10 min.
4. With an old toothbrush, scrub the joints of the tiles.
5. Leave to act again for 5 to 10 min.
6. Rinse the joints with the shower head or a damp cloth.
There you go, your tile joints are all clean and have regained their original whiteness :-)
Simple, practical and effective!
It works just as well on white silicone sealants as it does on light gray cement sealants.
And of course you can also use this cleaner for bathroom or kitchen joints.

Why does it work?
Bicarbonate is an effective natural product for cleaning and sanitizing. It is also an effective antifungal.
This means that it eliminates fungus. And mold is fungus.

Bleach, on the other hand, has the advantage of killing germs and bacteria. Molds do not resist! In addition, it whitens the surfaces. Including tile joints!
Bleach is a toxic product. But unfortunately, it is sometimes the only solution to find white joints.
This is particularly the case when mold is embedded in the tile joints.
So the best thing is to avoid mold.
For this, remember to ventilate the room well. Do this every time you use the bathroom.
You can also install a ventilation system. It is a long-lasting solution to avoid humidity in rooms.
Last advice, after each shower or bath, do not leave the joints wet. Pass a towel to remove water marks.
- Remember to wear gloves thick enough to handle the bleach and leave the window open.
- Wear old clothes that are not afraid of bleach stains, because there will surely be splashes.
- Remember that cement joints darken when wet. So wait for the joints to dry completely to see the final result.
