Winter is coming soon... it's time to bring out the quilts and blankets.
If they have been stored for several months, chances are they will smell bad...
A good musty or, worse, musty smell!
Fortunately, there is a trick to cleaning a duvet easily.
Just sprinkle some baking soda on it and let sit :
1. Make room to spread the quilt or blanket on the floor. If the floor is not very clean, it is better to spread it on the bed.
2. Sprinkle a little baking soda over the entire surface of the duvet. No need to put too much, the goal is to have it everywhere.
3. Let the baking soda sit for a whole day if possible.
4. Finally, shake your duvet out the window or vacuum to remove the baking soda.
There you go, thanks to this trick, the musty smell is over :-)
You will be able to sleep in a clean duvet that smells like new.
This trick also works for the rest of the bed linen such as sheets or duvet covers.
Sometimes baking soda just isn't enough!
It's probably that your duvet is too dirty to just be deodorized.
The best thing to do? Put your duvet in the washing machine and follow the instructions here.
