When we receive or simply when we prepare a meal, if you use less dishes you save energy.
Out of habit, we often tend to take out a lot of dishes both for cooking and eating.
Different pans to cook vegetables, rice.
To make sauces. Plates for starter, main course and dessert. Glasses galore:Aperitif, wine, water!
Stop! I stopped wanting to absolutely put the dishes in the big ones at each service. In addition, most of my guests do not attach any real importance to the number of glasses and my plates.
By doing this, I necessarily save on the amount of water I will use to do the dishes. And for those who have a dishwasher, it's exactly the same thing:it fills up less.
Water and energy savings are far from negligible, especially since a dishwasher represents 14% of our electricity bill!
So we save on detergents of all kinds on water and electricity, what do you think? Come give me your opinion in the comments!
By choosing to reduce the amount of dishes I use, I only do one round of the dishwasher per week compared to three before.
Just by calculating my water consumption here are the savings.
My dishwasher is recent and only consumes 20l for a round in Eco mode. That is 1040 liters of water per year. So I save 2560l over a year.
And in € how much?
Taking the average price per m3 of water, 4€87 gives me:12€60 over a year . Ok, that doesn't sound spectacular, but on top of that comes the price of the tablets and my electricity consumption. So, combined with lots of other small measures, in the end it's starting to hurt a lot.
