I don't hesitate to drive low and engage gear highest speed, even in city traffic.
I use high gear ratios as much as possible.
For example at 50 km/h at constant speed, I can without any problem drive in fifth rather than fourth or third.
To save money and consume less fuel, it is advisable to drive at low revs as much as possible.
Indeed, to maintain a constant speed, the power required is lower at low speed. So I can drive in high gears even at low speeds!
To save even more, I don't hesitate to engage fifth gear, even in city traffic!
