One of the first things gardeners learn to grow are tomatoes .
Why ? It's probably because we all love to eat them and we use them every day in our meals.
Some time ago I discovered what I believe to be the easiest technique in the world to grow tomatoes.
This method is so easy that you will get more plants tomatoes with half the work!
Also, starting today, if you have overripe tomatoes at home, do not throw them away!
You can reuse them to grow tomato plants. Watch:
- potting soil or compost from your garden.
- a container or a large flowerpot.
- overripe tomatoes.
- a knife.
1. Fill your pot halfway with potting soil.
2. Cut the tomato into slices about half a centimeter thick.
3. Place the tomato slices in a circle on the potting soil.
4. Take some soil and lightly cover the tomato slices. Do not put too much on top so that they are barely covered.
5. Water the pot lightly so that the soil is damp without being soggy.
6. After only 7 to 14 days , the germs will start to grow.
There you go, you now know the world's easiest way to grow tomatoes :-)
Easy, isn't it? Who said growing tomato plants was difficult?
After 2 or 3 weeks, you will certainly end up with around fifty germs in the same pot.
But don't leave them all in the same pot! Take the ones that seem to be the strongest and replant them in your garden or in another pot as below:
To give your tomatoes the space they need to grow well, leave a maximum of 2 shoots per pot. No more!
And of course, don't forget to water your tomato plants from time to time.
Do you intend to carry out the experiment at home? Be careful not to use F1 type hybrid tomatoes. Why ? Because they are genetically modified so that they cannot reproduce!
It is best to choose organic tomatoes, and to avoid large surfaces as much as possible.
