Your child wants a goldfish?
You have to admit that a goldfish is a practical animal!
It stays where it is and goes unnoticed.
But you are certainly wondering how to deal with it.
I made my son very happy by giving him his Bubulle. So, I did some research on goldfish maintenance.
Jar or aquarium, filter, water... Goldfish have no more secrets for me!
My tips are simple and economical, so that Bubulle is a happy fish! And I share them with you;-)
First, know that all aquariums should be rectangular like this.
You should avoid taking a round jar at all costs.
Because they are much too small and in addition they distort the vision of the fish inside. A real nightmare for them!
In a rectangular aquarium of 18 liters, you can put only 1 fish maximum. The bigger the aquarium, the better it is for your fish.
But the best is to count 50 liters of water per fish and to have two fish.
Why ? Because they are so-called gregarious fish, that is to say living in groups.
Banish the pump, which is on the one hand very noisy, but which in addition must be maintained and changed regularly.
In the end, it gets very expensive. Put some sand and decorations. One plant for CO2 and food is enough.
Otherwise the fish will have little room to grow and move freely.
The ideal is to change the water once a week or every 10 days , if you don't have very hard water and it doesn't look very dirty.
Remember to add more during the week if the level drops quickly, as in summer for example.
Change it the day you have to water your plants, it will serve as fertilizer and you will save water.
You only need to change 4/5ths of the water. Kept water contains the pH and bacteria necessary to maintain the aquarium ecosystem which will help in the development of your fish.
When I clean his aquarium, I place Bubulle in a freezer bag or a mini plastic aquarium, with some of his current water.
I change the water then I put the container and the fish back in the aquarium which has colder water.
Little by little, the water in the bag will take the same temperature as the aquarium and Bubulle will escape the thermal shock.
Since we have chosen the "aquarium without pump" option, we can add a product that improves the quality of the water. It can be found in the supermarket or here on the internet.
Bubulle has a great quality:he eats very little and his food is really not expensive! I buy a very small jar of complete food flakes in the supermarket.
No need to buy several jars with benefits for each (such as red flakes that keep it red, chestnuts that nourish it etc).
A 100 ml jar can be kept for one year. And when I go on vacation, I think of the sticks that melt on their own in the aquarium.
