A freezer needs maintenance.
This is important for it to remain efficient and to limit electricity consumption.
To save some energy...and therefore money, it is important to defrost it regularly, approximately every 6 months.
The easiest way to defrost it regularly is to use a small squeegee. Don't worry, it's very easy.
1. Wait until the frost is about 4mm thick, often after 4-6 months.
2. Run a plastic squeegee over the thickness of the ice.
There you go, you've defrosted your freezer and saved money.
The presence of frost has the major consequence of increasing the temperature and altering the performance of the device.
By removing 4 mm thick frost in my freezer, I halve the consumption of my appliance.
With a simple regular defrosting, I therefore save on my electricity bill and increase my purchasing power.
The rapid formation of frost is often due to faulty seals. So I'm thinking of checking the tightness of my freezer!
