Lay down the foam and then lay the layer of felt and canvas on top. Trim the material to size, leaving approximately six inches of excess to secure later.
Stretch the canvas taut on the table top before securing it with upholstery staples. For a more finished look, fold the canvas under once before securing it to the plywood top. Alternate stapling on each side until the entire perimeter has been securely fastened, saving the corners for last.
The final step is a bit like making a bed:a nice, narrow, hospitable bed nook. Once the fabric is fully secured, the top is finished.
