Step 1

Open your Alexa app on your phone and tap Skills in the sidebar. Search Twitter Reader and tap Enable . You will be prompted to log in to your Twitter account.

Once you've signed in to Twitter, you can start using Alexa to interact with your Twitter account. Here are the prompts you can use to find out what's happening on Twitter:

• Alexa, open Twitter - This will tell you how these Amazon Echo skills work.
• Alexa, ask on Twitter what's going on? - This will read aloud the first three tweets in your feed and let you know who posted them. If a tweet has been retweeted, it will be preceded by RT, and hashtags will be preceded by the word “Hashtag”. Alexa will give you the option to learn more about the accounts that posted those tweets, or to listen to more tweets in your feed.
• Alexa, ask Twitter for trends. - You can find out what are the trending topics in the region based on your settings. You can hear tweets specific to a trend saying "Tell me more about number X" - just be sure to keep track of the numbers for each trending article.
• Alexa, ask on Twitter for trends in [Location] - You can find out what are the trending topics in a specific region or city.
• Alexa, ask me on Twitter about my mentions. - You can listen to your latest mentions on Twitter..
• Alexa, ask on Twitter for my own tweets. - You can listen to the last tweets you have published..

A few things to note about how this feature works:If you're bilingual on Twitter, Alexa will have some trouble reading your tweets. Tweets written in non-Latin characters are simply not read. It can also be a pretty tedious way to access your Twitter account, but if you want to avoid going down a Twitter rabbit hole by staying up to date with your Twitter account while doing other things, this might be the way to go.

If you decide you want to revoke access to your Twitter account, go to Settings> Applications and search for “Twitter skill by Alexa and Twitter integration” and click on the Revoke access button.
