As your current heating is no longer efficient, are you planning to replace it in the very near future before the winter season? Underfloor, wall or ceiling heating… The choice is not always easy.
Rejoice! Heated floors are not only reserved for newly built houses, but can also be installed in old buildings. The proof, I have just equipped my home with it. Why ? My choice is, above all, a concern for economy. In fact, compared to other types of heating, this system is less energy-consuming, especially for hydraulic heated floors. Subsequently, as the heat diffuses by radiation, the temperature is homogeneous throughout the room.
However, to ensure that my underfloor heating was working properly, I still took the precaution of covering the heated floor with fluid screed. Recommended for its thermal performance and excellent conductivity, among other things, this coating would also be a first-choice acoustic insulator. Compared to the traditional one, I preferred the fluid screed for its great ease and speed of implementation. Indeed, only one or two days after its installation, it is already possible to circulate on the surface. Order from Cemex if you are looking for a good supplier.
But before opting for heated floors, I first thought seriously about wall heating. Very chilly, I couldn't bear the contact of the cold wall on my skin. Moreover, as some parts of the house were very humid, I was convinced that installing this system would help to effectively remedy this problem. But that was without counting on the major work to be done to have a wall heater.
After the quote from the contractor, I quickly changed my mind, especially since I had just put new wallpaper on my walls. Nevertheless, apart from installation constraints, wall heating has many advantages. Thus, as the ducts and ducts are aesthetically hidden under the wall for example, this system is ideal for small rooms, especially if you want to save space.
Finally, as a last alternative, I discovered the heated ceiling. But this solution was also not possible in my case, since I was not renovating my house.
Moreover, according to the opinion of many professionals I have consulted, the installation of this heating system would require a ceiling with a minimum height of two meters fifty. In addition, the false ceiling must also be at least ten centimeters thick. Otherwise, the inhabitants of the premises risk simply suffocating from the heat.
This is why this type of heating is found mainly in public, educational or sports establishments and very rarely in private homes. However, if you are still attracted to this mode of heating, two options are available to you, namely the hydraulic ceiling and the electric ceiling. Note that some heated ceilings are reversible and can be converted into an air conditioner when the summer season arrives.
