Do you have a large garden? Know that you can build a nice shed there and use it as you wish. Indeed, a small house in the garden can be used as storage space for your gardening tools or even for your garden furniture during bad weather. You can also use it to receive your guests or as a mini office. Indeed, it is not the use that is lacking for a garden shed, hence the need to have one. If you're thinking of building it yourself, here's a neat little guide.
Before proceeding with the construction of your playhouse, gather some materials including a pencil, wood screws, a tape measure, a plumb line, a hammer, a jigsaw, a wood chisel, a saber saw, a level, a screwdriver-unscrewer and a square.
Then level the ground to obtain a flat surface and install pillars that will accommodate the support beams. The latter must be placed lengthwise on the grid of pillars. For fixing, use metal strips with holes to facilitate nailing. Thanks to such a foundation, your shed promises to last over time.
For this task, start by installing rim joists on the beams. Make sure that their length is equal to that of the support beams. Then continue with the installation of the floor joists. The latter must be perpendicular to the support beams and their length must be equivalent to the distance separating the border joists. So that they do not move, put a wedge between the floor joists.
Start by sawing the plywood boards to the correct length using a saber saw. Thanks to this powerful tool, this operation will only take you a few minutes and requires almost no effort. Now nail the boards to the joists and take your time. Use H-staples so the boards are inseparable.
You are now about to complete your shed. The next stage of construction is to place the walls. The best way to do this is to build each of the four walls separately and then integrate them into the structure. For the back wall, the panel will be solid.
Your task then is to assemble a few planks to the right length and awaken the carpenter within you. For the remaining three walls, the operation will be the same, but just plan a window and a door. Once the walls are ready, install them on the structure of your house.
Before putting the roof in place, check the strength of the supports. Also place the supports for the fascia boards then nail the corrugated sheets. If necessary, cut them to the right length and give priority to aesthetics and solidity.
For the finish, coat all the wooden parts of your shed with fungicide and stain before painting them. Prefer a spray gun rather than a brush or a roller for painting for an incomparable rendering. Finally, note that a garden shed of this type can have different uses.
