What is potpourri

1 cup of pink rose petals
½  cup of red rose petals
½ cup of white rose petals

¼ cup chamomile Flowers
½  cup ground sea aster (Aster tripolium, blue or white)
¼ cup eucalyptus leaves
¼ cup oakmoss
20 drops rose oil

Supplies

– Large bowl
– Wooden spoon
– Paper fruit bag
– Greaseproof paper
– Paper clip

How to make the potpourri

1. Put the petals with the leaves in a large bowl
2. Drop the rose oil over it (directly from the bottle or using a pipette)
3. Mix carefully with a wooden spoon
4. Line the paper fruit bag with greaseproof paper
5. Pour the flower mixture into the paper bag and close with a paperclip
6. Put the bag in a dark, dry and cool place for two weeks
7. Make sure to shake the bag every other day so that the scent can optimally mix with the ingredients
8. After two weeks, the potpourri is ready for use. You can now divide the potpourri into small sachets, place them in a bowl (e.g. a glass vase) or hang bags in the different rooms (e.g. bathroom)

Make your own potpourri with different flowers and herbs

– ¾  cup sweet calamus root (Acorus calamus)
– ½ cup cumin
– ¼  cup ground cloves
– 2 cups lavender flowers
– 1 cup marjoram
