After this episode of intense rain, and relative mildness, the sun appears in an azure blue sky. It's like that winter in the south, finally in the Gard. The north wind rose and carried the gray masses beyond the sea. The temperature is very mild, 13°C forecast for January 21st. But who says clear sky, says frozen to come if the wind stalls. And it's gonna happen one of these four mornings. Except that the ground is soggy, that some plants are showing signs of restarting, the almond tree is budding to have the best exposed branches punctuated with white. And a cold snap after a period of rain gives quite harmful results. January, danger.
Redouble vigilance is the action to be taken. To be checked:the veils of wintering, the reserves of water in saucers, the basins formed near the garlic or the onion by the rain. May this sweetness not make us forget that the cold can still come and damage our gardens if we are not careful.
The associated water and cold are a violent poison for Mediterranean women; I mean plants…
