I have long dreamed of a home swimming pool at the very heart of my interior. This project will finally be realized since in the construction plans of my house, I foresee a "swimming room". Can't wait for the end of the works!
A few years ago, I discovered the concept of an indoor pool with a couple of friends, during a holiday in Greece. It was so pleasant that it made me want to have such equipment also at home. Unfortunately, my apartment could not accommodate such an installation. Fortunately, this is no longer the case with my new home.
Indeed, installing a swimming pool in a closed room, but above all covered, is still a real technical feat for the contractor. Nevertheless, I still have a small advantage:as the pool will not be integrated into an already existing structure, the task is easier for him and I have a good margin of maneuver to choose the location of my pool. interior.
The ideal for me would of course be the proud owner of a huge indoor pool. But I quickly changed my mind and opted for a reasonably sized pool instead. Indeed, the larger the pool, the more water it requires.
This is therefore synonymous with an increase in water consumption, but also in the humidity level in the "swimming room". Hence this very unpleasant feeling of suffocation, particularly when the ceiling is not high enough and when the openings to the outside are not numerous. Thus, when defining the dimensions of the swimming pool, it is necessary to take into account the characteristics of the room that will accommodate it.
The good news ? Just like outdoor models, there are many choices when it comes to indoor pools. However, it is the buried concrete basins that remain the most stressed in this case. As for me, I will rather favor tiled concrete, compared to masonry for its aesthetics.
Therefore, I can opt for a colored tile, or why not a pattern? Alternatively, there are kit swimming pools. Easy to install, these pools are the cheapest on the market. Only downside, I find these pools a bit inelegant, a bit "cheap". Otherwise, clamshell models are also in high demand. But already, the infinity pools will be forgotten.
Complex and very technical to install, an indoor pool will cost more than an outdoor one. And the bill is likely to be high if the swimming pool is built in a building that has already been built. For good reason, major work, such as strengthening and stabilizing the ground or
improving the insulation of the room will be required. Fortunately, I don't have to worry about these details.
However, if you plan to transform your living room or your veranda into a seaside space, do not hesitate to seek the advice of a professional to ensure the feasibility of your project. Be aware that the cost price of an indoor pool will vary according to many parameters such as its dimensions, its material or its technical equipment.
