Simply vacuuming is not the best approach. Vacuuming isn't science, but a smart strategy saves valuable time and produces clean results. Here we show how vacuuming can be done more efficiently. If you follow the tips, you will not only save valuable time, but you can also be sure that there is nothing wrong with the cleaning quality.
Clean up Corners and edges keep the dust in place. Therefore, before vacuuming, the sequence must be created. That means storing clothes, stacking newspapers and magazines, and putting bottles in the basement. The floor must be completely empty - otherwise vacuuming will not be effective.
Put away obstacles
Objects that actually have a permanent place on the floor should also be lifted. Think of stools, plants, floor cushions and the like. In the toilet and in the bathroom, toilet brushes, garbage cans, scales, etc. must be removed. Heavy objects such as planters and side tables, on the other hand, can remain in place.
Wipe the dust away
Dust and crumbs must be removed from the furniture before vacuuming. Because the vacuum cleaner expels the sucked air, the air currents can stir up dirt, and the dust can return to the already vacuumed floor surfaces.
Shake out carpets and rugs
This is where dust and dirt collect particularly quickly and remain “sticky”. Even the best vacuum cleaners only remove a fraction of the textile fibres. Therefore, the textiles lying loosely on the floor must be removed before vacuuming. The dirt that falls out can then be vacuumed up much more easily.
Suck from back to front
Correct vacuuming – the same principle applies here as for wiping. You always vacuum in the farthest corner of the room and make your way to the door. Otherwise, the remaining dirt will spread back into the room.
Don't forget hidden corners
Even hard-to-reach niches, for example between cabinets and under the sofa, are important when vacuuming. Even though you can't see it, the dirt is still there. With every draft, the dust spreads through the apartment again.
Mop the floor after vacuuming
The following applies to smooth floor surfaces:After vacuuming, the floor should be mopped thoroughly. Because now the floor is free of all coarse pollution such as dirt, stones, etc. and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Mopping also removes stubborn dirt – as well as the finest dust particles that the vacuum cleaner cannot remove on smooth floors.
