You want to live carefree, your home is a place where safety and security are of great importance. Unfortunately, no home is one hundred percent safe, but you can make the home a lot safer with a few relatively simple devices. For example, you can detect danger with a motion sensor, and with an IP camera you immediately capture suspicious situations, even when you are not at home. Secure every home with motion sensors, live, sleep and live with more confidence and peace of mind.
What is a motion sensor?
There are different types of sensors, let's list the most common products:
● Motion sensor:This type of sensor registers a movement, as soon as something or someone moves in front of the sensor, an action will be initiated. This can be an audible alarm, but also an IP camera that automatically captures images.
● Sound sensor:This sensor reacts to sound, such as a baby monitor that switches on when the baby starts to cry.
● Light sensor :This is a sensor that is often used to turn on lights automatically when it gets dark, unlike a timer, a light sensor will also work when it gets cloudy during the day.
● Opening sensor:These sensors are often placed on windows mounted but also on front doors, back doors, garages, gates and fences. Various actions are possible after detection of opening, such as sounding an alarm, but also switching on the lights when you come home in the evening.
Sensors do nothing by themselves, by linking them to another device you give them a meaning. For example, a motion sensor can switch on an IP camera, a light sensor can open or close the curtains. Sensors are often used to improve safety in and around the home, and you can also greatly improve living comfort with them. So you kill two birds with one stone.
IP Camera
An IP camera is a type of security camera that is linked to the internet. This can be done via a cable or wirelessly via WiFi. The images are placed directly on the internet at an address that only the owner has access to, for example via a special app on the smartphone. The images are also accessible via a browser on a PC, worldwide as long as there is internet available. To use an IP camera for security, it is advisable to choose a type with a backup battery in case the power goes out. In that case, the camera can still continue to work. A high image resolution is also important to be able to perceive detail in the image. Most IP cameras are equipped with a special wide-angle lens to capture a large area, then an HD resolution is essential to zoom in on details in the image later.
IP camera with motion sensor
An IP camera usually does not have to make recordings 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, just like a lamp does not have to be on when the sun is shining. By connecting an IP camera to a motion sensor, the camera will only activate when movement is registered. By connecting the IP camera with a special app, you will receive a notification as soon as the camera captures images, so you do not have to keep an eye on the image. This is useful when you want to see from work when the children come home, it is also safe when you are in bed and someone is trying to break in.
Pets and a motion sensor
If you have installed an IP camera with a motion sensor in your house, it is possible that children or pets "trigger" the sensor. Depending on the type of sensor and the function, you can use the software to set which movement should lead to a certain action. For example, on some devices you can set that small pets are not registered, for example with an active dog in the house
Not just for security
When you are at the office and want to be sure that the children are back from school on time, an IP camera in combination with a motion sensor can also offer a solution. A signal goes off as soon as the children come home, a photo is sent to the server via WiFi and you receive a notification on your smartphone. This way you don't have to play a police officer with your children, worrying about your children is no longer necessary when you receive a beautiful photo via the app.
Within a Smart Home there are many possibilities with sensors and smart devices that are linked to the internet. The combination of a motion sensor with an IP camera is just one example of making the home safer and more pleasant.
