Where you 'in the past' only knew vtwonen from a magazine that was on the shelves of the bookstore or perhaps from TV, vtwonen has now really become a complete concept. If you view the website of this residential brand, you will not only see inspiring articles, but also their own collections, such as the vtwonen flooring collection, from which we have selected a floor!

Personally, I think it's very clever how this brand has developed in recent years. Besides the fact that vtwonen is of course a great magazine that every interior enthusiast would like to receive on their doorstep every month, they have grown enormously in many more areas. How do they all do it? No idea! But I secretly assume that they work together a lot with other parties and specialists, so that they have also been able to create their own collections. Want to turn yourself from living magazine into a flooring 'supplier'? You don't just do that, of course.
Anyway, I am in love with the vtwonen floors and as I mentioned last time, we have chosen a new floor from the vtwonen collection by ambient. A PVC floor. We had already decided that we wanted a PVC floor. But I had my doubts about which PVC floor it would be. A herringbone floor? I think it's super cool! But I'm also a big fan of the concrete look. Frank was the deciding factor because he thinks herringbone is just a bit too busy. So I can doubt what I want, but if I also want to take my hubbie into account, the choice becomes a bit more limited.
Still, I would like to show you some different floors from the vtwonen collection. After all, not everyone has the same taste and the principles for choosing a floor can also differ. So maybe I can still inspire you with this article. Because those vtwonen floors are simply delicious. From PVC to laminate and from parquet to marmoleum, they have it all in their flooring collection.
Would you rather not have a laminate or PVC floor, but are you looking for a parquet floor? Then you can also make your choice at vtwonen. The floors below are examples of parquet floors from their collection.
As mentioned, we prefer a PVC floor and we have our reasons for that. The strongest argument for this choice comes from our family composition with two children, a dog and three cats. Especially the pet variants of our family composition are decisive in the choice of a floor. Although our adolescent and pre-adolescent can also do something when it comes to getting dirty.
But convenience serves people. So the choices we make when renovating our house and furnishing it are not only based on what we find very beautiful, but are also made on a practical basis. And I believe that a PVC floor is practical, that is well known by now. But even then it is still difficult to make a choice, as is apparent from the samples we have in house. My preference was initially for a light gray concrete look PVC floor in tile variant. A click PVC floor because we can easily install it ourselves and a concrete look because Frank and I both like it. The light gray variant that we had our eye on is this:
Super cool right? But before we finally decided that this had to be him, we made a different choice, haha. Let's hope we don't regret it! The reason we chose a different gray concrete look variant has to do with the 'practical' I talked about above.
Let me explain to you how we arrived at a different floor from the vtwonen floors collection:
I left the various samples I had at home for a few weeks. On the floor. One time I had the samples next to each other in the living room and then again in the kitchen and in the office. Simply, to get a feel for what the floor does to you in all rooms. My preference was for a floor that was as light as possible because I like a lot of light in the house. But while those samples were lying on the floor, our pets were just doing their thing. Something along the lines of … nice outside and back in with filthy legs.
Now I have reasonably under control with the dog's filthy paws. I always clean his paws after our morning walk, otherwise the floor in the whole house is completely filthy after five minutes. Of course I have no control over the cats, they do what they do. And let's be honest… the dog's paws are never spotless after I've cleaned them.
After a few weeks it was clear that the light gray concrete look floor above had quite a few stains. I can polish those stains off, but much less was visible on the vt living floors below. And then that practical feeling resurfaced. Both floors get equally dirty and are just as easy to clean. But the floor below shows much less filth. Now you may think that's very dirty 😉 , but I'm happy with it. Because I don't clean every day, no matter what floor I have. And then I really prefer a floor on which you see less.
As you can see, this variant of the vtwonen PVC click floors has a small speck in the floor. This makes stains much less noticeable, but the overall appearance is concrete look. We have also chosen a slightly lighter variant of the floor above so that the entire surface does not become too dark. It's quite a few square meters.
What are the starting points for a floor for you? Is practically number one, or do you go for the look first?
