With or without a black toilet in our toilet room? I've been thinking about it for a while and finally decided to go for the white version. And I have my reasons for that that I would like to share with you. Are you still unsure whether you will go for a black toilet or a white toilet bowl? The renovations in our house have also reached the smallest space in the house. We are in the process of renovating our toilet and I say "in progress" in particular because the toilet has actually been waiting for months for the finish. The walls are done, the new PVC floor is there and the toilet is now also hanging.
Before we start renovating the toilet, I thought long and hard about getting a black toilet and looked at all kinds of examples. Personally, I think a black toilet in the toilet or in the bathroom is really beautiful. Super chic and something different. I did have to get used to it though. At first I didn't like a black toilet. Still, as I saw more photos of toilets with a black toilet in them, I fell more and more in love with this new phenomenon. Frank was also completely in it and was therefore convinced of the fact that there was going to be a black toilet.
And yet I finally decided to go for a white toilet. I only have one very good reason for that, which I will of course tell you, but not yet. Read on first .
The disadvantages for a black toilet are all the more. Opinions are also very divided. There are fans of the black variety who can't really name any drawbacks because they love it so much. But there are also more than enough people who indicate that they would never choose a black 'pisket' again. Why not? Well, below you will find the disadvantages of a black toilet:
Since we do have a water softener in the house, that is no reason to leave a black toilet. However, I have another reason why I chose the white toilet and it is very simple. A bit banal perhaps, but still very simple.
I want to know what my stool looks like 😉 . Because just said between you and me… you also check what your turd looks like, right? For me that is one of the indicators of my health. Sounds stupid maybe, but I always check haha. And in a white toilet that control can take place very well, but not at all in a black toilet. You don't see anything at all. Not what color your urine is, but also not whether your stool is colored differently. And even the structure of your stool is harder to see in a black toilet.
And it's not that I like to stare at what I've dropped in the jar for 5 minutes to make sure everything is okay. No, rather a quick check and then flush right away, right?
So this has been the deciding factor for me. Not the lime, not the stains, but my health. I just want to know what's going on. That's all.
Now I'm curious, could this also be the reason for you not to choose a black toilet?
Okay, so we opted for a white toilet downstairs. I might one day opt for a black toilet upstairs, but we'll see that again with the renovation. Now, of course, we have renovated much more in the toilet than just put in a new toilet. I also painted the walls black in the toilet, with the same concrete-look paint as we also painted the wall in the living room.
We did not remove the white tiles that were there on the advice of our plasterer. He foresaw a lot of misery when demolishing the tiles and eventually plastered over it. Furthermore, I have fitted one wall in the toilet with great photo wallpaper, but because a new washbasin still needs to be fitted to it and a few beautiful wooden planks I will not show it for a while. To be continued! Oh yes, there will also be a cool new toilet door and of course beautiful window coverings, but that too will take a while. Soon it will be more than five months before the toilet is completely finished, haha.
