Once you have decided on wallpaper, how do you choose the one that meets your needs?
Today there are several materials, several finishes… How to find your way around? How to choose among all these options? Several parameters must be taken into account to successfully produce the desired effect.
First of all, take into account the volume of the room and its brightness. The size of the wallpaper and the image colors will influence the perception of space and ambient light. The height under the ceiling can also play on the impression of volume and clarity of the room. The decor can highlight the ceiling height of your room.
If, like here, you have a rather warm and designer interior with materials such as wood and colored walls, you can dare to decorate with lots of details and colors.
Decorative accessories are also important and are part of the layout of the room.
If you have a rather dark floor and accessories, opt for a light wallpaper or with light patterns, as above.
Next, look at the quality of your wall:its material. What is it made of:placo, plaster, wood, concrete? Its composition will allow you to determine whether you need a material that is rather thin, rather thick, rather textured... The choice of material is essential for the installation.
Our wallpaper support is installed with a standard white glue to be applied by roller. For installation on normally absorbent open wall (plaster or BA13 type), all materials can be adapted with Ovalit TM white glue. For installation on non-absorbent wall (melamine type and blocked paints), use non-woven paper or textile canvas with Ovalit ultra glue. If you choose another one, check on the pot of glue that the material of your wall is mentioned.
Whether your wall decoration lasts a week during an event fair, or several years in your room, it's not the same thing. So we don't choose the same wallpaper, the same tapestry support. If your wallpaper is there for 1 week, no need to spend 179 € for a textile fabric. The Scenolia non-woven paper at €99 may be sufficient, and above all at a lower cost. On the other hand, if you want to put it down for a long time, it would be better to invest in a high quality and washable material like textile canvas .;)
