I am a real lover of home shows on TV. One residential program is of course more fun than the other, but I prefer to watch them all. And I'm not the only one in the house. Lotte regularly shouts that she wants to watch a residential program, haha. Nice to hang out on the couch and look inside at others. Super awesome. But the moment we can watch does not always match the moments when these programs are broadcast on TV. Fortunately I have found a solution for that; watch TV over the internet!

For me, the hobby naturally comes from the renovations in our own house and the fact that I like to gain interior inspiration. But Lotte just has it out of her own interest that she likes to watch these programs. Perhaps she secretly aspires to a career as an interior decorator. Her favorite living program on TV is in any case 'The Perfect Renovation' at the moment. A fantastic residential program in which two architects each make their own plan for renovation and refurbishment of a house, based on the wishes of the residents of course.
The most special thing about this residential program on TV is that the plans are presented in 3D with VR glasses. So incredibly funny to see how they can fully visualize everything the architects have come up with. The residents simply stand in their own living room (virtually) with VR glasses on and see the walls being moved, windows being created, doors placed and so on. Complete up to and including a complete interior that they have come up with.
Based on the two (often completely different) designs of the architects, the residents make a choice for one of the two plans. They get to work with that and after the renovation they show the result at the end of the episode. You will also hear whether they have stayed within the budget for the renovation. The way in which the residents are taken by the hand in the design and already get a total overview of how the result will be is of course the strongest point of this residential program on TV. And it's fun for the viewer.
Now, however, the case is that we hardly ever have the opportunity to look at the right times. Whether I have to do sports, or Lotte is going to do sports, or she still has to study for a test or just do homework. There are, of course, many reasons why you can't sit down in front of the TV exactly when a program starts broadcasting. Residential programs or not, we find it very easy if we can just look back without any problems.
Of course you can sometimes record a program if you want, but you have to think about that in advance. In addition, very often with a recorded program we cannot fast forward the commercials. Very annoying. Many of these residential programs on TV are also really chock-full of commercials. Even though I understand that the TV channels earn their money with this, I prefer to fast forward. The big advantage of watching TV via the internet is that you can see 'The Perfect Renovation' via NLZIET, for example, without commercials. All episodes can be viewed ad-free and this kind of residential programs only get better 😉 .

For example, if you don't have a TV subscription, watching TV without internet is ideal anyway. You can still watch TV without a TV subscription. And not only in your own living room, but of course also when you are on holiday, for example. Via laptop, smartphone, smart TV or tablet, it doesn't matter. You make your own choice. In terms of device, in terms of program and in terms of time. Anyway, I found this out when I wanted to watch home programs on TV 😉 . So a little tip for you.
Our favorite of the residential programs on TV is by far:'The Perfect Renovation', but we also like to watch 'Again in love with your house' and also Eigen Huis en Tuin. Although the latter has changed a lot and is no longer like the Own House and Garden of the past. In the past you could get really nice ideas in this residential program, but nowadays the emphasis is no longer on renovations and giving inspiration. Well to all sponsors of the program. Unfortunately. So we don't look back via the internet, but only watch if we happen to be zapping on the couch.
