These are the traces of scale at the bottom of the toilet bowl. Yuck!
Whether they are yellow, black or brown, same fight!
Since the water is hard in my area, I am always cleaning the scale deposits from the bowl.
So, I tested tons of homemade toilet cleaner recipes to have im-pec-cables toilets. .
Hooray! Because guess what? I found THE ultimate recipe to clean and prevent scale at the bottom of the bowl effortlessly and naturally .
The little extra? All the ingredients are 100% natural, and I bet you already have them at home! Watch:
- 700 ml of white vinegar
- 250 g of Epsom salt (also called magnesium sulphate)
- 2 tablespoons of washing-up liquid
- 1 large glass jar with airtight lid
- optional:a few drops of essential oil
1. Put all the ingredients in the big jar.
2. Close the lid of the jar.
3. Stir well to mix all the ingredients.
4. You have stirred enough when some of the Epsom salts have dissolved.
5. Pour 1/3 of this mixture directly into your toilet bowl.
6. Leave on for an hour or overnight if needed.
7. Scrub with the toilet brush
8. Flush.
There you go, the bottom of the toilet bowl is now sparkling clean :-)

White vinegar is one of the most widely used natural cleansers. Thanks to its acidity, it is perfect for dissolving hard water stains. In addition, white vinegar only costs €0.45 a bottle.
Epsom salt , also called magnesium sulfate, is a mild abrasive. Thus, it is ideal to make your task easier when you scrub the toilet bowl and walls.
Dishwashing liquid helps loosen dirt and remove traces of limescale. I use this dishwashing liquid, but any commercial dishwashing liquid will do.
- This formula also works wonders for removing dirt and hard water stains all over the house:bathtub, sink, kitchen sink .
- You can also use my miracle spray cleanser . Simply pour it into a spray bottle. Spray directly on the affected areas and you're done! For really stubborn smudges or hard-to-reach places, I suggest using an old toothbrush to scrub.
- To make it even more efficient , you can also sprinkle some Epsom salt directly on the area and spray your cleanser over it. Scrub with an old toothbrush or sponge for shinier, sparkling clean surfaces.
