"To Toussaint , golden flowers in the garden!"
For a century, it has reigned above all in cemeteries.
So if you're tired of All Saints' Day "chrysanthemum mode", change and celebrate All Saints' Day with original and unique compositions!
You may not have known it, but the chrysanthemum is probably one of the only flower pots to be produced exclusively for flowering tombstones on All Saints Day.
Sold between 3 and 15 € per pot , there are no less than 22 million plants artificial flowers that are produced every year, just for November 1st! Uplifting, right? Especially when you know the tedious work that its cultivation requires, during the 4 to 6 months of production.
A veritable jackpot for horticulturists, at the cost of standardization which, if it is pretty to see the same day or the next day, quickly loses its luster in a short time!
In the past, the chrysanthemum was reserved for the garden, because it is one of the flowers that can brighten up a garden throughout the fall , and this until the first frosts.
Some families also have a very special thought, often delicate and original, for their deceased loved ones. Without going off the beaten track, little by little, the compositions appeared on tombstones. Here and there they add a touch of greenery, old heather roses, the flamed white or purple of a curly cyclamen, or even the originality of quirky, black, orange or two-tone gourds. They can be planted in the ground , in front of the grave, for the pleasure of the eyes, and for a more lasting flowering !
I don't know what you are planning to offer your dearly departed, but this year, personally, I have decided to celebrate All Saints Day with originality :I am convinced that my loved ones, if they were still in this world, would appreciate that I have a very special thought for them .
You who flower regularly the graves of your loved ones, and who want to give an original touch for your present, put together a colorful and very original autumnal bouquet to which you can add a touch of traditionalism by adding a branch of Chrysanthemum Tokyo, or create a very special ephemeral composition.
You who prefer the sustainable tribute or which can flower only occasionally the last resting place of your loved ones, your preference will be for a composition of plants with cold-resistant flowers, such as cyclamen coum, heather, pansy, primrose, wallflower and green foliage such as spindle, variegated ivy, the stems of a colorful grass or variegated holly with its red fruits. These plants are all intended to be planted in the ground in the days that follow (the same day is even better).
I will ask you not to be proud because you will have placed a unique offering at the foot of a tomb. Only before submitting your original bouquet or your unique flower arrangement , you will raise your eyes:look around you and have a humble thought for all the people who cannot or no longer travel on this special day to give flowers to their deceased.
Then come and drop here, if you wish, in comments, a message for all the living and the missing people dear to your hearts, because the Toussaint should be a day of sharing, full of colors and emotions.
Did you know that only 2% of the potted chrysanthemums produced will actually be planted , after their filing? The national net loss is therefore estimated between €64,680,000 and €323,400,000!!! By not buying or replanting the plants in the ground, this roughly represents a saving of €0.96 to €4.83 per inhabitant per year!
By buying sustainable plants , or by replanting , your plants will only require light maintenance in the first year, a few waterings, pruning or drying for bulbous plants, transplanting, but this will allow considerable savings and the assurance of flowering permanent of the burial of your missing loved ones.
Your loved ones have certainly traveled to the other shore, but don't they deserve unique attention despite everything? from you?
