Here is a simple and effective trick that I use once a month to clean my microwave effortlessly at home.

To get your microwave back in shape, follow these 3 simple steps.
1. Fill a bowl with water and add some lemon juice to it.
2. Heat it for about 5 minutes in your microwave. Do not remove the bowl from the oven at the end of cooking.
The trick is to leave it in the oven for a few more minutes so that the water vapor and the lemon evaporate and come to spread on the walls of your microwave.
The acidity of the water/lemon mixture naturally degreases but also gets rid of bad smells.
3. Once the oven is very damp, take a sponge and wipe the steam off the walls.
