Spring is on its way.
It gives me the desire for renewal in the house. And I have plenty of energy to clean up and restore order.
Room by room, I give you my advice for carrying out an economical and effective spring cleaning.
Today, let's go to the bathroom .
My secret for an economical and ecological household...
It is to use soda crystals and white vinegar.
Contents
Before I start, I take:
- clean rags
- garbage bags
- an old toothbrush and toothpaste
- white vinegar
- soda crystals
And I prepare my own product to clean the tiles
Thus equipped, I clean green for cheap !
Our bathroom cupboards are often overflowing with a variety of beauty products. And yes, some have been forgotten in the back of the closet. It's time to do some sorting. The goal is to throw away what has been started for too long.
I check on the container what the small logo indicates.
You know the one that represents an open pot with a number followed by an "M".
If I see a 12 next to the M for example...
This informs me that I can use my product 12 months after opening.
Tip: My trick for not forgetting the date on which I opened my product? I note it with a permanent marker on the container. So I can always use my beauty products without risk.
For your information, know that a mascara can be kept for 3 months. Body and sun lotions can be kept for 12 months. Face creams keep for about 10 months. And it takes 1 year for varnishes and lipsticks.
This little sorting will allow you to take stock of what your cupboards contain.
And maybe you will even have the pleasant surprise of finding brand new products that you had forgotten!
I do not hesitate to ask my husband and my children for help. Some tasks are within everyone's reach. Once everyone knows what to do, let's go!
Good mood tip: I'm thinking of putting on moving music to brighten up these hours of cleaning. A good atmosphere will make the time pass faster and give me energy!
I insist in particular where I do not always go during my weekly cleaning.
- Dust removal from the ceiling light, from the top of the furniture, from the door and from the complaints, using a cloth. I take this opportunity to get rid of cobwebs if I see any.
- Washing painted interior walls and door.
For this I prepare two buckets. One is filled with clear water. And the other contains 1 liter of water and a glass of soda crystals.
- With a large sponge, I gently rub my wall with water containing soda crystals.
- Then, I rinse with clear water with another sponge.
- Finally, I quickly dry my wall using a towel.
- Cleaning joints of cement tiles.
Over time, these joints become greyish and stained with mold. Not only is it not pretty to look at, but it's not very hygienic either.
I clean them by rubbing them with an old toothbrush on which I put toothpaste. I can also wet the toothbrush. And I sprinkle it with soda crystals before rubbing my joints.
I then clean the wall tiles, the sink, the shower and the bathtub with my usual white vinegar cleaning product.
- Cleaning tiles and mirrors using a tea towel and my homemade window cleaner.
- I finish that great cleaning by vacuuming and mopping the floor.
