1. Hand wash tights

Here s how to wash your tights and stockings (WITHOUT damaging them).

It is recommended to wash your tights and stockings by hand .

I recommend that you fill a basin with lukewarm water.

Especially not hot water, because it "cooks" the elastic fibers.

For washing, add a few drops of Marseille soap and white vinegar.

These two products maintain the fabric gently and strengthen the fibers without damaging them.

Rinse with cold water.

I advise you to always wash them like this after purchase and before putting them on for the first time.

2. Gently wring out the pantyhose

Once the tights have been washed, wring them gently so as not to damage the fabric or loosen the fibres.

Thus, we will avoid twisting them by squeezing them very hard.

So how do you wring them?

Simply by roughly removing the excess water in a towel .

Place the pantyhose in the towel, pressing lightly.

Again, do not rub or twist it to keep the fibers intact.

Especially for compression stockings.

3. Lay pantyhose flat

Now that the tights are washed and wrung out, you have to hang them up.

It is best to lay them flat on a drying rack to avoid deformations.

And of course, preferably outdoors.

It is recommended not to put stockings or tights on a radiator to dry it.

Why ? So as not to burn the elastic fibres.

When I don't have a drying rack, for example when I'm at the hotel, I put it on a dry towel on the towel rack.

And it works for all tights:Calzédonia, Dim, Wolford, Burlington, Gerbe, Chantal Thomass...

4. Can I machine wash my tights?

Although it is not recommended, it is a very practical solution.

If you have no choice, put your tights in a laundry net to avoid addicts.

Choose a wool program (30°).

Indeed, this type of program is gentle and at low temperatures, which is ideal, especially for compression stockings.

And then it avoids pilling.

7 tips for taking care of my nylon tights

- Choose quality and resistant tights . There's nothing worse than those that go away in less than a day...and in the end it costs more, because we consume more of it.

- If you like very thin stockings, wash them gently to avoid pilling and damaging the material.

- Store your tights separately . It would be best to store them in small individual pouches to avoid stitches. They can also be hung on a hanger.

- Put them on by unrolling them and gently rising from the toes to the waist.

- Remember to oil your legs before putting them on to avoid snags on rough skin. And watch out for snagging nails!

- Be careful where you sit:avoid wooden benches, nails sticking out...

- Put protection over the tights in your shoes. There are mini socks that only cover the heels and toes. Convenient to avoid snags in shoes. In boots, it's simpler:put on a normal sock. In addition, you will have less cold feet!
