1. With a lavender fragrance

Fragrances are perfumes that are used to replace essential oils.

There are natural or synthetic ones.

Obviously natural fragrances are the ones to choose!

Just a few drops to flavor homemade products.

Among my favorites, there is the fragrance of lavender, cotton flower or monoï.

And what I love above all is that the perfume lasts a long time.

2. With an orange blossom hydrosol

Another trick for perfuming laundry when washing is to add an orange blossom hydrosol.

You know, the same as for cakes.

Put it directly in the drum before starting the usual cycle.

Coming out, the laundry smells soft and fresh.

Of course, all other hydrosols work too.

It's just a matter of taste.

Lavender, violet, lilac or even pink...it's up to you to see which one you prefer.

As it is 100% natural, it is ideal for baby washing or for people with sensitive skin.

Only downside, the smell lasts less than that of fragrances.

3. With fresh roses

Some flowers are very fragrant:

Rose, jasmine, freesia, lilac, lavender or even honeysuckle.

If it can be used to flavor white vinegar, it can also be used to flavor liquid or powdered homemade laundry.

To do this, simply macerate the flowers so that they release their fragrances.

Either in vinegar if your detergent recipe includes it, or in hot water which is used to melt the soap flakes.

So obviously, we are far from the chemical scents of commercial detergents, but it's worth it.

It's 100% natural!

The trick also works with citrus peels.

4. With scented soap flakes

Are you used to doing your DIY laundry with Marseille soap flakes?

So perhaps the easiest way is to choose scented soap flakes.

Most of the time, they are flavored with rose or lavender.

It's a good way to give a light fresh scent to your laundry.

And it takes no effort.

Why avoid essential oils in your laundry?

Essential oils are not perfumes, but fairly powerful alternative medicine products.

They are ultra-concentrated.

In short, we do not use them anyhow, because they are not harmless.

It is therefore not wise to flavor the laundry with it.

Why?

Because it is not recommended for babies, pregnant women, fragile people or people prone to allergies.

Essential oils can be photosensitizing, especially citrus oils.

Worse still, they can be polluting.

Indeed, they are so concentrated that when released into the water, they become toxic.

And then, did you know that to produce 1 liter of rose essential oil, you need more than 4000 kg of petals.

Imagine how many flowers you have to grow and water for this...
