Because nothing is worse than a table with lots of marks or a dull veil on the glass plate.
It doesn't look very "clean", especially when you have guests.
But we don't always know how to clean it...
A professional housekeeper friend gave me these tips for maintaining this type of table without damaging it.
And you want good news? All these techniques are 100% natural.

A glass table is very stylish in a dining room, because it doesn't break up the space.
But the slightest glass placed leaves a clearly visible mark on the glass top.
And I'm not even talking about the traces of oil, wine or sticky soda after a meal.
To overcome it, a simple cleaning with a soft sponge and a drop of dishwashing liquid does the trick.
Remember to rinse well and dry with a clean, lint-free cloth.
My advice:don't put too much washing-up liquid. Why ? Because it can leave a white veil.
If your glass coffee table has white streaks or limescale deposits from the glasses placed...
Only one solution:white vinegar!
Run a vinegar-soaked cloth over the table, emphasizing the affected areas. Then rinse and dry.
White vinegar also erases red fruit stains, oily areas.
And the ultimate little bonus:it disinfects. Perfect for cleaning eating areas, right?
Here's my favorite way to clean and sanitize without leaving streaks on the glass table!
Household alcohol gets rid of greasy, sticky, ink, glue and tea traces.
And what's more, it makes the glass shine.
A little spray of window cleaner on a frosted or transparent glass table gives good results.
Especially in case of very greasy fingerprints!
Do you know why it works? Because this product contains alcohol which makes the glass surface shine.
A stubborn stain on your glass table?
Before you mess around with a sponge and scratch your table, try toothpaste.
Put a layer of toothpaste on the stain in question, and let it act for at least 30 minutes, then rinse and dry.
You will be surprised at the result!
It is even said that the toothpaste could camouflage some shallow scratches on the glass.
Whether your table is tempered or frosted, transparent or colored, regular maintenance is the secret.
This is also true for outdoor garden tables.
After each use, wipe with a soft damp sponge, or a cloth soaked in alcohol.
This removes fingerprints and food before they become permanently encrusted.
Also dust it regularly.
Yes, that's ideal!
To protect your table during a meal, put place mats or a tablecloth.
In case of children's "craft session", protect the table with newspaper to avoid scratches and squirts of paints, glue or markers.
It's the same if you have a glass desk! Protect it with a desk pad to avoid scratches.
- Marseille soap (or de Castille) which can leave a dull, whitish veil on the glass table. If you want to use this soap, you will have to rinse the table well to remove all soap residue.
- Abrasive sponges which can scratch the glass surface. And a scratched glass table is not very beautiful and less practical to maintain.
- Fluffy tea towels or Sopalin which leave a pile of small fibers on the table.
- The White Spirit which is too greasy. Therefore, it greases the table even more than if it had not been washed.
