Besides being hydrating, tangerine also makes skin and hair look healthy, youthful and healthy.
The cool thing is that you can plant and grow your own tangerines at home without pesticides.
And don't worry, it's quite simple. Watch:
1. Select seeds in good condition from a tangerine and wash them.
2. Place the seeds on damp cotton in a glass to germinate them.
2. Take a flowerpot with drainage holes in the bottom.
3. Place some stones at the bottom and add sand on top for better airflow.
4. Fill the pot with humus-rich soil. We recommend using a mixture of perlite, peat moss and fertilizer.
4. Water the soil until it no longer absorbs water and let it sit to regulate its moisture. Note that it should not be waterlogged.
5. Then plant a few sprouted seeds gently in the ground without forcing and cover them with a little potting soil.
6. Put a transparent plastic film over the pot (or put the pot in a bag) to keep the heat in and maintain the humidity. This will speed up the germination process.
7. Place the flowerpot in a warm area. It indeed needs a higher temperature during germination. However, do not place it in direct sunlight.
8. Water frequently and make sure the soil is not soggy or totally dry. The first shoots should appear within 20 days.
9. When you see the first shoots, remove the transparent film from the pot. And put it in a bright place, but not in direct sunlight. The temperature should be around 20°C.
10. Add fertilizer to the plant about three times a month during the spring and harvest months. It is advisable to use a fertilizer in liquid form, rich in iron, zinc and magnesium.
And There you go ! Never need to buy tangerines again, you've grown a free supply of them :-)
Not that complicated to grow at home, is it?
In addition, this technique works with all citrus fruits, including orange, lemon and grapefruit trees.
Be aware that if you buy organic mandarins, you may even find seeds already ready to germinate.
- Above you can see my tangerines that produce even in the Alps!
- When the mandarin tree becomes noticeably larger and begins to produce beautiful leaves, repot it in a slightly larger pot.
- Apply this method each spring whenever the tree grows. Always pay attention to the humidity level of the soil.
- If you live in a warm region, you can also plant it in the ground.
- Regularly remove damaged or dry branches. Prune the branches around the main stem to form the trunk in the early years.
- After 4 to 6 years, you will harvest your first mandarins. Ripe fruits must be picked carefully without being torn off. If the tree is happy, you will see that it will become very productive quickly.
