You can choose to fuel your boiler with natural gas or propane. Natural gas is the most practical for townhouses, since connection to the urban network is simple. Isolated homes will find it easier to use propane gas, but will need to provide for the installation of a storage tank and its replenishment. Although the initial investment is roughly the same, you will save more in use with a natural gas boiler.
There are three boiler models, each of which can be powered by natural gas or propane.
This model is the most widespread and also the cheapest with a price varying between 600 and 4,500 euros. To work, it needs a tank to heat the water before distributing it to the heating network of the house.
This model is more expensive since its cost varies between 1,300 and 5,500 euros. On the other hand, it allows you to achieve 20 to 30% energy savings each year. It works with water vapor to heat radiators and underfloor heating.
This type of boiler heats the water in the radiators to a temperature of 45°C. Its high price, between 3,000 and 5,000 euros approximately, is offset by the significant energy savings it makes you realize, namely 15 to 40% per year. On the other hand, it is only suitable for small houses and heating systems designed to operate at low temperatures.
