Iron furniture has no equal to elegantly decorate the garden. Whether as a table, chairs or complete garden furniture, it comes in several forms. Follow below all the methods and tips to maintain this type of furniture to perfection.
Metal garden furniture is easy to clean, unless it rusts. Sensitive to strong temperature differences, wrought iron does not support abrasive products and detergents. To scrub stubborn stains, opt instead for a sponge soaked in water with soda crystals added. Rinse with a damp cloth and then dry with a dry towel.
Also remember to apply special liquid wax at least once every three months to prevent rust from forming. If this kind of inconvenience appears, wet the place with petroleum using a wire brush or steel wool to sand it. Cover everything with anti-rust paint. Don't let bird droppings linger on your furniture, they tend to quickly damage iron equipment.
Resistant to rust, this type of furniture does not however support high humidity. So it is best to bring it home in winter or when there is heavy rain. Wash your furniture as often as possible with a cloth and soapy water. To keep its gleaming appearance, clean it with table oil combined with cigarette ashes.
You can also use another trick:that of the paste made of water and baking soda. Polish with a chamois leather, after rinsing and drying. In case white spots appear, just rub with a soft cloth soaked in sea salt paste and warm vinegar. Avoid using a wire brush or steel wool to maintain your stainless steel furniture, as this damages the chrome layer and causes corrosion.
Like stainless steel, aluminum and other materials (bronze, copper, stainless steel) do not fear rust. Very elegant and contemporary, this type of furniture is also light and very resistant. A simple wipe with a cloth can dust them, but you can still use a protective cover to protect them from dust. To enhance the color, simply use a renovating product.
