Is lime dangerous and can we cultivate then?

Question from a blogger:Is lime dangerous and can we cultivate afterwards?

It was cultural to bring lime in gardens and fields, before cultivation, in order on the one hand to make a calcium supply and then to raise the pH of the soil, i.e. lower the acidity .

For me, in a loam garden with a compost put in autumn eliminates the contribution of lime. There is enough in the soil for what you want to grow (unless a complete soil analysis shows a calcium deficiency, and too much acidity). On the other hand, in acid soils, or with a manure based on undecomposed manure, it has some use. But we are in extreme cases. If you fertilize in the fall with various and varied organic matter (compost or other), fertilization is sufficient.

Hey ! it's nice to know you have one less job to do...

Keep asking me your questions, for now the answer is free. Well, if you have an extra jar of jams...
