Is there asbestos in tampons? Is lip balm dangerous? Do you get cancer from deodorant? Are natural substances and products really better for you? The new website Waarzitwatin.nl provides answers to these kinds of questions. The website is an initiative of RIVM, SafetyNL and the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. The aim is to make everyone more aware of the products they use, and to dispel rumors about products based on scientific insights.
All products that you use in and around the house contain chemical substances. They are in your personal care products, toys, clothing and DIY products. At the same time, a wide variety of information about chemical substances is being disseminated. On the new website Waarzitwatin.nl you can find out how to deal with chemicals in everyday products in the right way. The website offers accessible information based on the latest scientific insights. Waarzitwatin contains information about approximately 50 everyday products and more than 100 chemical substances. This information disproves all sorts of rumours. For example, there is no asbestos in tampons, aluminum salts in deodorants do not cause cancer, lip balm is not dangerous when used normally and natural products are not necessarily better.
