Is your son or daughter crazy about knights, animals, Disney, horses, or a certain color? Then start decorating the nursery based on a cool theme. This way you can transform your child's sleeping place into a real themed room! Create a nursery in which your child feels completely at home. Make it a real gang of animals, or a real sweet princess room? Be inspired by Pinterest, for example, give the walls a color or a nice wallpaper, because they determine the atmosphere in the themed room. Then let the bed match the theme and complete it with nice accessories.
We all know that decorating a child's room can be quite a thing! Now I'm blessed with a friend who can create really fantastic murals, so if I really want something special, I knock on her door, but I still wanted to show you the necessary inspiration.
If you are finished and want to get started yourself, you can of course also pick up the paint pot yourself. If you are not very good at painting, or if you really hate it (like hubby for example), you can outsource the painting if you want of course. A painter costs on average € 35 – € 40 per hour, so that is probably not so bad for a children's room. But I say:do those walls yourself!

With a holiday just around the corner, it's quite a fun project to tackle with your child; furnish a nursery. But you can also go far in a weekend. We have listed a number of themes for you to inspire, take your pick!

Color the room to match the theme. Are you going to make it an exotic jungle room, or a cool girl's room? Then it is wonderful to work with different colors of green.
You can then decorate the room nicely with wall stickers and this makes furnishing a children's room a 'piece of cake'. It is really nice to alternate wallpaper and painting in the nursery, for example, it gives a super playful effect. For example, do you have a children's room with the theme 'forest'? Then take a look at the possibilities of this photo wallpaper, super cool!. Wall murals of a forest, for example, are wonderful to create depth in the room.
For the creatives:
Paint a wall in the bedroom with chalk paint. In this way, your child can make drawings on the wall that match the theme. With blacklight you create the most enchanting effects and you can also decorate the children's room. Apply a beautiful mural with glow in the dark paint, close the shutters and turn on a blacklight lamp:the room changes into a completely different world.
The range of children's beds is huge. There are children's beds available with a slide, in the shape of a car, built as a bird house or castle, you can think of it so crazy. All nice of course, but the main thing is that you buy a nice and good children's mattress. This is also important for your child.
Anyway, back to the beds. There are sturdy, wood-look children's beds available for a jungle-themed nursery. Or opt for a bed in the shape of a tipi, which ensures a real Indian experience. Can't find a suitable bed that matches your theme, or do you simply not have room for a special version (as is the case with us)? Then you are looking for an original duvet cover that matches the rest of the room! For example, what do you think of this beautiful panda duvet? You can find more of these types of duvet covers here. Even with these small details you can already implement the design of the nursery.
And last but not least… with accessories you can go a long way! And accessories to furnish really don't have to be expensive. Take a look around at the Action or the Xenos, there you have nice items for next to nothing to get started with. Does the nursery have an animal theme? Then hang plush animal heads on the wall. The forest and the farm are also teeming with animals, of course. In this blog you will also find a lot of nursery ideas to get started with.
For the creatives:
Get started yourself! Make some fun accessories in the style of the room. Also take a look around your house, there are probably still things here and there that can be combined with other children's items. Paint boxes in a cheerful color and store the cuddly toys in them. Or paint an old clock in a fresh color and stick nice stickers on it.
Enough ideas to get started, right? What would you like to tackle when decorating the nursery?
