Do not throw away your shower curtain if the grommets are broken.
I have a trick to solve this problem and save you money!
Carnations tearing one after the other, it happened to me when I was a student.
A cheap shower curtain is, but when the goods are still usable I prefer to repair .
A little imagination and I found the solution!
The trick is to remove the old eyelets and create new ones.
- a pair of scissors
- a pencil
- a rule
- a small hole punch
I start by unhooking my curtain, which I spread out on the floor. Under the old eyelets, a few centimeters apart, I draw my new eyelets with a pen. The goal is for them to have the same spacing between them as the old ones, to be able to replace the shower curtain easily.
I position my pair of scissors flush with the old eyelets and I cut lengthwise to eliminate them all (even those that are not torn). To cut cleanly, you can draw a guide line along the length of the curtain using a pen and ruler.
For that I take my hole punch, I place the metal hole punch at the exact place where my marker is and I drill my first hole. Then I proceed in the same way for the others.
If you don't have a hole punch, you can drill the holes with the tip of your scissors , but I warn you in advance, the result is not very beautiful.
That's it, you just have to install your curtain using the rings and you're done. And I'm delighted because instead of buying a new shower curtain I repaired the old one, which will still be able to serve me for quite some time.
Thanks to my little repair tip, very simple, and with 10 minutes of effort, you have saved at least €4 ! And if you ever have any questions about the trick, don't hesitate to ask me in the comments. I'm here to help!
